Why GARP and the SCR® Certificate Matter
The Global Association of Risk Professionals® (GARP®) is the world’s leading association of risk professionals, advancing the profession through education, research and best practices. To help professionals respond to the growing financial and organisational implications of climate change, GARP® developed the Sustainability and Climate Risk (SCR®) Certificate.
The SCR® Certificate connects climate science with risk management, sustainable finance and strategic decision-making. It strengthens professional credibility and the ability to evaluate physical and transition risks, use scenario analysis, consider nature-related risks and integrate net-zero and transition planning into organisational decisions.

Complete one comprehensive preparation course aligned with the current SCR® curriculum, then take the official SCR® Exam. Candidates who pass the examination receive the Sustainability and Climate Risk (SCR®) Certificate from GARP®.

Sustainability and Climate Risk (SCR®) Certificate
The University of Sarajevo provides preparation for the SCR® Exam only. Official exam registration and payment are completed separately through GARP®, which administers the examination and awards the SCR® Certificate after a successful result. The University of Sarajevo Certificate of Completion is separate from the SCR® Certificate awarded by GARP®.

SCR® Exam at a Glance
The official SCR® Exam is administered separately by GARP® and is graded on a pass/fail basis.
80 Multiple-
Choice Questions
The exam comprises 80 equally weighted multiple-choice questions, including one multi-part case-study question requiring analytical thinking and practical application.

Candidates have a maximum of four hours to complete the exam.
April & October
Exam Windows
The SCR® Exam is offered in April and October. Exam appointments are subject to availability and are reserved on a first-come, first-served basis.
100–150 Recommended
Study Hours
GARP® recommends approximately 100–150 hours of preparation, depending on the candidate’s prior knowledge and experience.
Official exam structure, dates, scheduling arrangements and policies are determined by GARP® and may change. Candidates should consult the current GARP® information before registering and scheduling their examination

Official SCR® Exam Registration
The University preparation fee does not include registration for the official SCR® Exam. Candidates register and pay separately and directly through GARP®.
SCR® Exam fees vary according to the candidate’s registration category and registration period. Official examination fees, applicable taxes, registration deadlines and examination policies are determined by GARP® and may change.
