About Us

Equipping the Green Workforce of Tomorrow, Today

Who We Are

The Sustainability Learning Institute (SLI) is an international platform for accredited education, certification, and capacity building in sustainability, climate action, and ESG integration.

Founded by the University of Sarajevo through its Office for Climate Change and Sustainability, SLI was established to address a critical challenge:

The global demand for green skills is growing faster than education and training systems can deliver.

SLI empowers individuals, organisations, and systems through:

  • Internationally recognised qualification
  • Practical ESG and climate tools
  • Flexible learning pathways

We are aligned with global and regional priorities, including the 2030 Agenda, Paris Agreement, Net Zero targets defined by the UNFCCC, EU priorities such as the European Green Deal, CSRD, and EU Taxonomy/ESRS, and the Green Agenda for the Western Balkans.

SLI operates through strategic collaboration with global standard-setters, development partners, and regional institutions, translating international frameworks into locally relevant, impact-driven solutions.

Our programmes are offered in hybrid formats (live, online, and self-paced) supporting learners at every stage of their sustainability journey, from entry-level to senior leaders.
